I can honestly say that each time we are commissioned to design and create a wedding cake for a couple’s special day it is a real honour. But, as a designer (and somebody who absolutely thrives on challenge!) it is really is so exciting to be given the opportunity to create a confection that is not only an architectural challenge but also one that gives rise to new design and new delicious flavours.
Leeds Castle also has a real emotional connection for me – having been taken there so often as a child – to run around exploring the castle and enjoying many a picnic in the gorgeous grounds. It is the most spectacualr venue and whilst I wouldn’t change a thing about my own wedding (including my husband…!) I just cannot imagine how grand it must feel to be married somewhere as spectacular as Leeds Castle, steeped in history and boasting the most incredible banqueting rooms. We chose a venue on a much smaller scale for our wedding – intimate and in the perfect location for all our friends and family and somewhere that felt just right for us.
Delivering cakes throughout the south east of England I get to see many beautiful wedding venues. But, in chosing a venue for your big day I truly believe that your chosen location should simply feel ‘right’ for you – and you will feel this as soon as you step in. So wherever you have chosen to host your wedding, be it grand or intimate. a barn or a castle, it should just feel ‘right’…
