Beautiful Kent Wedding

Eastwell Manor in Kent was the chosen venue and looked absolutely gorgeous in the sunshine when I arrived to deliver the cake. As you may have already gathered from the blog, I have a real passion for history and adore so many of the beautiful venues that I am privileged to see when meeting clients and delivering wedding cakes. Eastwell manor is no exception. A 3,000 acre estate, originally built in 1069 situated in Boughton Lees nr Ashford in Kent.

When delivering wedding cakes I rarely get to see the bride (or any of the bridal party actually!) but Lucy and family had stayed at the venue the night before so it was a real treat when Lucy walked into the room – complete with hair rollers and a beaming smile! I managed to capture her expression on camera when she saw the cake (sorry Lucy – but you still look lovely….!)

I knew when I met Lucy that she would be a real perfectionist and have a great eye for detail. I wasn’t wrong. The room looked amazing. The theme was predominately vintage white, but also included some very ‘Cath Kidson’ colour splashes. i absolutely loved the ‘sweet favours’ and the framed table names (see pictures). Lucy and Matthew had chosen my white ‘Daisy’ cake design, which, if I do say so myself, was a great choice! A four tier design, but actually only three tiers of real cake (see, who would know?!)

Steve Ayres was the wedding photographerhttp://www.steveayres.com and has kindly supplied me with some of his fantastic images – posted here. Thanks so much Steve – the images are wonderful. See… 28 degrees, wearing a suit and lugging camera equipment around – no problem!

A beautfiul wedding, a gorgous couple and an absolute pleasure to work with x

PS. Lucy emailed these very kind words…..

The cake was incredible, I got so many compliments on it and it also tasted amazing. The whole thing went, the whole thing, I could not believe it. I think if we had cut up the polystyrene people would have eaten it!…
