We have been commissioned now for quite a few wedding cakes at Claridges, but here is our absolute our favourite, the one we designed and created for Gemma & TG for their wedding at Claridges in December 2021
What a privilege is was to design and create this incredible wedding cake, for the most spectacular wedding at, in my opinion, the most iconic venue in London.
Claridges is one of my absolute favourites. It doesn’t just have the iconic Art Deco (and newly restored) Ballroom but so many other luxurious event spaces. It really is quite incredible and we do feel so very honoured to be a recommended supplier to this iconic London Hotel. What a privilege.
This wedding cake at Claridges was a dream for us. As you may have already seen throughout our website and socials, we are not only very well known for our grander cakes but also our very traditional wedding cakes. Wedding cakes with so much detail, so much intricate piping and fine sugar work and coupled with hundreds and hundreds of hand crafted sugar flowers, tiny blossoms and petals. I’ll be honest, when Gemma and mum cake to see us at the studio, I really did have to contain my excitement! Oh, and Gemma wanted the cake to be in the centre of Claridges Ballroom.. oh, go on then!
Setting up delivering a wedding cake on this scale is no easy job, Lots of planning goes into not only making sure the cake looks fantastic but also that it is structurally sound. This is honestly not a job for an amatuer! And, then there is getting it into the venue (Westminster Council of course not too kind for people needing to park for an hour outside one of London;s prime locations…) But, I have to say, the staff at Claridges are just wonderful. From the doormen to the backroom it is all executed seamlessly.
Wedding Cakes at Claridges have ranged from 3 tiers to this one at 9 tiers! As I said above, there are a few beautiful event spaces and not all of them will require the presence of a 9 tier cake! But, whilst they don’t have to be huge, wedding cakes are Claridges do need to be incredibly beautiful.
