We are taking so many bookings for 2016 and what I am seeing so far is that ‘gold’ is still going to be very popular in 2016.
We have designed and created some beautiful wedding cakes including anything from minimum gold detail, to entire tiers being covered in gold leaf.
The feature image you see here is a wonderful showcase of ‘gold leaf’. Gold leaf is incomparable in terms of visual and it’s application creates the most incredible centrepiece – whether you want your cake to be centre stage or not!
When brides ask me how Gold leaf looks ‘for real’ i always describe it as similar to C-3PO from Star Wars! Maybe not very ‘wedding’ related but mentioning this character always seem to give a very clear visual!
Another way of applying gold to your wedding cake is by hand painting. The other images you see here all include details that have been hand painted in various shades of gold – in the case of the seven tier (white and gold) a whole tier has been painted – which, I am sure you will agree, looks beautiful.
If you wish to include gold in your wedding cake – don’t be afraid of it being ‘too much’. The more the better in my opinion! Gold flowers, Gold tiers, Gold bows…. it looks fabulous…
