Danielle Armstrong Wedding Cake
This is the stunning cake we designed and created for Danielle Armstrong & Tommy Edney for their incredible wedding at Ashridge House in August 2022
Soooo many sugar flowers – all handmade from icing, petal by petal and perfectly co-ordinated with Danielle & Tommy’s chosen fresh floral arrangement. We worked closely with Wild About (Danielle and Tommy’s selected florist) to exactly mirror each and every fresh floral that was being used. We also worked very closed with the event planner – Melinda from Luxus Events. Just a side note on that actually… what a pleasure it was to work for Luxus Events! We actually made Melinda’s wedding cake 8 years ago for her wedding to Jay at Pennhill Park in Surrey so it was lovely when she approached us on behalf of a client.
Danielle and Tommy’s wedding Cake was certainly centerstage on the staircase at Ashridge House and it was such a pleasure to set up such a beautiful cake in such an iconic venue. This was a nerve wracking one though I must be honest! It was a huge cake. HUGE! and incredibly heavy. It was also a very hot day and we were unable to get the cake into the building (in the cool) until the photos had been taken following the ceremony. The timings were running just slightly behind and we needed to get the cake out of the car – and out of the sun – before it got too warm. All the stresses of the job that are all forgotten once it is place and looking – if I say so myself – absolutely sensational!
