At Hall of Cakes we do BIG. Well, we do anything that is cake related but when a call comes in with 'can you do a cake that is the size of a person' (yes, verbatim) we are, literally all over it.
We love an epic challenge! If you look back through our blog and our socials you will see that we have done some WHOPPERS! The most incredible centre piece cakes for weddings, parties, corporate events.. Guest numbers from 50 to 500. No problem at all.
Iconic London wanted enormous, pink and girlie - oh and can we stand lip glosses up all around it? Er, yes if you want to!
This cake comprised 50kg of fondant icing and probably about 10kg of royal icing. The bottom alone weighed a ton (well, not exactly but..)
No, it wasn't all real. Only two tiers within this cake were real. But, that doesn't take away from the amount of work involved. icing a polystyrene tier that is 26 inch diameter and decorating it is no easy job!
The hardest part of this job was the delivery. Mistress of Mayfair is on the corner of Piccadilly and St James and the access to the event space was down two flights of steps... Needless to say a lot of swearing!
