We have delivered many beautiful wedding cakes to Cliveden House. Recently we had the pleasure to design and create the wedding cake for for Seza and Dean.
All of the rooms at Cliveden are stunning but the French Dining Room is by far my favourite. The most opulent of all of the rooms, with the most incredible gilded gold panelling. Looking over the magnificent grounds of Cliveden, it really is an incredible setting. Seza told us she wanted her cake placed centre stage on the mantelpiece in the French Dining Room. We were absolutely thrilled. We love to show off and we knew the cake would look wonderful placed here.
Seza wanted her cake to reflect the architecture of the room. Although, not to get completely lost in it. The colours in the room are very pale olive or sage green and the heavy gold panelling. Seza wanted her cake to be no more than 5 tiers as didn’t want it too tall. Whilst we love a tall cake, I completely agreed with her actually. Wedding Cakes at Cliveden in the French Dining Room are usually placed on the mantelpiece and thus are already placed quite height as the mantelpiece is already quite high. Seza also wanted her cake on a pedestal stand – which obviously added more height, so we didn’t need to be careful it wasn’t too tall.
Flora and Bee were the florists and we spoke with Victoria prior to the wedding to discuss the exact florals being used. We wanted to replicate in sugar to the give the cake a real wow factor and to also coordinate perfectly with the fresh flowers in the room – of which there were SO many.
As you can see, we included intricate piping detail on the cake with beautiful hand painted gold panelling. A nod to the architecture of the room but still quite minimal.
Seza was absolutely delighted with her cake and sent us the most beautiful thank you – see Google Reviews.
When we receive the professional images we will post again!
