We were asked in April to create a ‘showstopper’ of a princess fairytale cake for one of our VIP clients. When this client asks for ‘showstopper’ they really mean in. Nothing less than jaw dropping was going to do!
The client asked us to create 10 princess models crafted from sugar – all of the birthday girls’ favourite princesses. We only had 12 days to turn this around but our Simone is a master sugar crafter and whilst the timing was a tall order, with work already booked in, there is nothing Simone can’t recreate in sugar.
Wendy and I started work on the design (this was nearly a day in itself). So much thought has to be put in to whether the cake will be structurally sound – and of course, we need to be able to transport it. This whopper was to be delivered to One Hyde Park in Central London.
So, ten days later, a lot of stress and far to much swearing (may as well be honest) this beauty was delivered. Images are by Nina of 3Boys and Me Photography
