Just before Christmas we had the pleasure of working with Ella Hartig Events to design and create this incredible wedding cake for her client's reception in the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental at Hyde Park Corner.
Creating a cake like this is no easy task. We only make to order so we don't have sugar flowers just sitting around waiting to adorn a cake. Everything has to be made from scratch when the order is received.
Every rose is made petal by petal which are individually hand rolled. This cake comprised over 200 handcrafted sugar roses and blossoms. So, as you can see a lot of sugar craft...
The whole team worked tirelessly to get them done in what was, our shortest lead to date. We won't say how how long the lead was as we are quite sure we don't want to repeat it! Lets just say a lot of very early starts and working in the small hours!
As you can see, the end result is absolutely stunning. So much texture and detail and we were so delighted with the outcome. The most important thing is that the client was absolutely delighted.
We hope to be back at the Mandarin again in 2026
