I met Donna & Nas at the Hall Place Wedding Exhibition in November last year. Donna had seen one of our images of individual rose cupcakes and wanted to use this idea, but also adding a vintage feel and incorporating her theme colours of white, baby pink and rose pink.
Donna booked in for a design consultation, where we sat down and designed her confection, based on her ideas and preferences. Donna has also seen the ‘cupcake wrappers’ that are now available and really wanted to use these to complete the vintage rose look. I managed to source some beautiful white wrappers, which had an ‘English tea rose’ cut out – absolutely perfect.
Each cupcake was topped with a sugar rose which Donna wanted to be a lovely keepsake for guests. 60 of the roses were made in white, 40 in baby pink and 30 in the deeper two tone rose pink. By keeping the majoirty of the roses white, this would give the overall look a lighter delicate theme, once the cupcakes were placed on the display stand
All cupcakes were freshly baked the day before the wedding – to ensure maximum freshness. The ovens were on at 5am on the Saturday for baking to commence! Each cupcake was then topped with vanilla bean buttercream and iced in fondant before the sugar rose placed on top. Finally, each cupcake wrapped and boxed ready for delivery to the Marriott the next morning.
Cupcakes are a great alternative to the traditional tiered wedding cake and very popular….
