What an absolute treat to have been supplied these gorgeous images! Courtesy of the incredibly talented Mike Garrard – Mike Garrard Photography.
These images are from Melinda & Jai’s wedding at Pennyhill park in August this year.
Melinda and Jai came to see us back In January this year and it was such a pleasure to meet them. A really lovely couple, with clear ideas of what they wanted but also giving a us a certain amount of design license to work our magic.
Blush pinks, champagnes and creams were the colour pallet for this wedding and Melinda wanted us to do something really special.
Whilst we absolutely love ‘white’ wedding cakes it really is a treat when a bride is brave enough to go for something slightly different as their base colour. Melinda was not scared of colour and whilst she wanted the tones to be very subtle she knew that the champagne and blush pink would work together fantastically.
As you can see, Melinda really went to town with their flowers and I am so pleased to see in these images how well the colours of the cake worked with the tones of the rest of the wedding.
The entire base of this cake is covered with blush pink sugar roses, topped with tiers of rich fruit cake, coffee sponge with expresso rum cream filling and vanilla cake with vanilla bean buttercream and raspberry jam.
We received a lovely thank you from Melinda and Jai and wish them the very best for the future.
Nicola
PS. The image here of the Jai holding the little boy.. without question my favourite image of the year. It is an exceptional photographer who captures shots like this…
