I do find a London wedding at Christmas very special. Well, a wedding anywhere to be honest, but for someone who is totally in love with our beautiful capital, it really is a special treat to delivery one of our beautiful wedding cakes to a London wedding at Christmas. This one was certainly no exception. Sophie and Chris married at the 5 star Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge on 10th December 2022.
The Berkeley Hotel is situated right in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge, neighbouring Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the world famous Mandarin Oriental. To be honest, we hadn’t delivered to The Berkeley before. Have had one too many drinks with some girlfriends in the bar before but not actually worked there!
Sophie and Chris’s wedding day was absolutely freezing. Remember that real cold snap we had just before Christmas before it snowed? Well, I literally couldn’t feel my fingers getting this cake into the venue! So, so cold. The Berkeley however, was so warm and inviting – absolutely gorgeous and so Christmassy.
When you arrive at a set up and you know that The Wedding Lounge are in the house, you know it’s going to be lovely. We have worked with The Wedding Lounge many times before and their event styling is always en pointe. Oh, and Flowers by Miri. We hadn’t worked with Flowers by Miri before but we had heard great things about them so we knew it would be beautiful. Did not disappoint – the flowers were absolutely stunning. So impactful yet also very soft and delicate at the same time.
Like everything else, Sophie had chosen an all white wedding cake, soft petals and delicate white handcrafted sugar roses but again, impactful at the same time.
The photographer was the SO TALENTED Lainey Lovell. We have worked with Lainey a couple of times before and all I can say is that I am keeping everything crossed that she photographs more of our work in 2023. Just look as these stunning images. Absolutely beautiful Lainey. Thank you so much xxx
