We are so delighted to be able to blog this wedding – with the professional images provided by Yvette Craig Photography. Thanks so much Yvette (some of our own images are here too – I always like to include a few snaps of us setting up!)
So, Delia wanted a big cake! End. Of. There was no stopping this lovely lady from getting her dream cake. To be honest, it was so clear from our first meeting with Delia and Paul that Paul just completely adores Delia and, I don’t think he would actually so no to plucking the stars from the sky for her! We had already done a whopper of a birthday cake for Paul a few months earlier so Delia knew that we were up for the job of creating her dream wedding cake.
We have a very ornate, beautiful cake on display in our studio which, I am proud to say, many clients oooh and ahhhh over. Whilst Delia loved this design, it just wasn’t enough for her (really…?). On a serious note, it was such a pleasure to be able to go ‘all out’. Really go to town. Grand, ornate, showstopping cakes are what we love most and this one was a fabulous project.
As you can see, it is a very tall structure (10 tiers). So, the setting up can be a little stressful (especially with tourists taking pics and chatting to you whilst at work!)
This cake did contain a few dummy tiers but the cake tiers comprised of chocolate, lemon, vanilla and not forgetting Paul’s very own tier of rich fruit cake!
Delia and Paul, a pleasure to work for you again and all the very best for the future x
Here is the thank you that we received from Delia and Paul
Everyone in the banqueting hall at Leeds Castle were gobsmacked. They were in awe taking pictures of the masterpiece you and your team patiently and lovingly created especially for our wedding day. The details of the icing flowers were so stunning it said it all.
It not only looked incredible but was also so delicious we couldn’t stop asking for seconds.
Thank you so much for the Hall of Cakes team, I would never hesitate to recommend Hall of Cakes to all my family and friends.
We love you Nicola, hope to see you soon.Delia and Paul x x x
