A few years ago nearly every enquiry was ‘can you do an Alice in Wonderland themed cake ?’ but as with any theme or trend, they come and go. But, so pleased to say that this theme is back!
To be honest, the classic always come back. Winnie the Pooh, Disney, Alice in Wonderland.. they are timeless and work for a 1st Birthday, a baby shower or, actually, we even did an amazing Alice in Wonderland themed cake for a wedding a few years back. Although, this was the Tim Burton version so it was a bit more ‘out there’ and definitely a bit scary for a 1st birthday party! I have included an images below.. As you will see, a bit both and definitely on the darker side of the Alice theme!
So, the mix of the baby pink and blue is the one we did most recently. Delivered to a client in Chelsea. Black and white edible sketches, the pocket watch, playing cards – 1 of hearts of course.. beautiful soft bows and exquisite sugar flowers in complimentary tones and of course, finishing off with the top hat of the Mad Hatter.
Delighted to say that the client was elated with what we produced. The cake was for her twins 1st Birthday party at their home in Chelsea. She was quite concerned as to how to mix the blue and the pink on a theme like this, but in the end she was absolutely delighted with the finished result.
